Scars theyare,

Scars thatare left behind.

Scars ofvictory,

Scars oflove,

Scars ofpain,

Scars ofguilt,

Scars thatremind you of a time,

that can nevercome back,

of time thathas tested everything,

the lovethat bloomed and faded,

the glorythat was earned and lost,

the gainthat was laced with pain

and healedwith time.

the rainthat poured heavily and dampened the spirits,

the sun thatrose and set to rise again,

the birdsthat left at every dusk

and thesolitude you made peace with,

the peoplewho came into your life,

for apurpose, for a lesson, for whatever

and chose toleave sooner or later.

Scars theyare,

that remindyou of good and evil,

loss andattainment,

life anddeath,

Scars thatstay whether or not you want them to,

Scars thatrefuse to fade away with time,

Scars thatkeep reminding you what you are,

and make youponder what you will be,

Scars thathave become a part of life,

whether youwant them to be or not,

Scars thatwe have accepted and surrendered to,

just like analter soul that cannot be detached in a lifetime or more.
