His determination for battle coupled with his quick wit allowed him to rise swiftly in the ranks until he commanded his own unit, being one of the youngest commanders in Solidad history.

His promising career was frustratingly halted by a stray blast from a captured prisoner who had feigned surrender. Still set on serving his people and his planet, he took on command of the Forerunner immediately after being nursed to health by a woman who captured his heart. He and Maya have been the figureheads of the Forerunner and leaders of its crew since its inception.

Considered to be one of the fleet's best captains, Akren Rathed takes his responsibilities very seriously. He always tries to make time for his crew members, and is quick to give praise as well as give sincere criticism when needed. The latest mission has pushed his patience to the limits, as he is eager to return home to their son and face the enemy that is threatening his home and his people.
