After being kicked out of Crystalview Academy by DeanWilburt, Larek and his new friends are forced to journey south where he is tocontinue his studies in yet another Academy named Copperleaf.  Along the way, the Logger-turned-Fusionistexpands his knowledge of the world and its people – and the world slowly learnsabout Larek in return.
