From 9 to 5bn

When I first started to read about population decline in the press, it was always in the context of its potentially negative impact on the economy. These frustratingly one-eyed comments started me on my own research in to population decline and its extraordinary long-term impact on land-use and through that climate change, and all without any major economic perturbations.
This research led to the creation of the fictional author, Anne Wyeth, and her book, 'From 9 to 5', which looks back from 2150 at the environmental, economic, cultural and political changes that happened in the previous century, during which the global population declined from 9 to 5bn.
This is examined through the telling of the life story of Solomon Isarebe, the man who first persuaded governments and citizens that population decline would save the planet.
This is a story about how ordinary people have the potential to be superheroes.
