As a self-published author now of two books, working on my third, I get asked a lot about how to start writing. So many people have a great story to tell. They follow the complex rules of Google. Which I am sure are much better than the way I do it.
Maybe it is because I write about myself and the lessons I have learned in life, but Google advice isn't very helpful to me. It is complex and confusing sometimes to me.
So my advice is to sit down, open a Word doc, and start typing. That is all I do. There are better ways to do it, but it works for me.
The point is, start writing if you have a story to tell. Stop overcomplicating it. Life is complicated enough. I use tools such as Word, Grammarly, and Friends. I also use KDP to publish them for me; for covers, I use Canva. Simple, hope that helps any new writers to be.
