I’m happy to see Fall in Kentucky

– girl reaching for poetic life-
It’s coming ya’ll!
Fall is right around the corner. It was 50 degrees this morning in Kentucky! Never mind that we’ll make it to 80 by lunch and I’ll be sweltering, the cooler nighttime temps tell me that summer is leaving sooner rather than later.
I’m dreaming of cozy clothes to cuddle in on those crisp fireside nights. I’m breaking out the sweatshirts, the flannel, and the knee high boots as we speak.
It won’t be long until gooey marshmallow bits will be worn by smiling lips everywhere. Hot Cocoa sales will go through the roof and chili commercials will dance across our screens, beckoning our souls. (I’m making myself hungry)
Our porches will be full of multicolor mums and pumpkin explosions. We’ll scour the candy aisles for the perfect Trick or Treat goodies and help our children plan their costumes for Halloween.
If you have a pumpkin addiction (like me) you’ll fill your home with all the DIY’s you’ve created over the years. I’ve amassed quite the pumpkin patch just so you know. 🤣🤣🤣
Some I remake over to coincide with my current theme, others are timeless and hold special meaning.
Fall has always been a reminder of CHANGE for me. I watch the leaves on the trees behind my home turn into a mosaic masterpiece. And I am inspired by the way they boldly announce their descent. Even when they fall, they do so with intensity and intention.
I hope you’re looking forward to this season as much as I am. There is something about beginning “new” with a fresh start that gives hope in all things.
Until next time,
Alfa
