Hi friends and readers! I wanted to post a quick note here because I've just realized something about Goodreads. I've received a few really kind, thoughtful DMs from readers with a private profile in recent weeks, and while I can read these messages, I cannot respond to them (there is a note below the main text that says, "[user name] is not accepting messages"). I didn't notice this until now because so many people have public accounts, so I can usually respond with a note of thanks.

So! If you are one of the wonderful people who sent me a note recently, please know that I read it and appreciate it so much, and that I would have replied to thank you for your support if Goodreads allowed me to.
