Her finger slid over the pommel and blade, but she couldn’t take her eyes away from his mesmerizing gaze. Sooty lashes surrounded black eyes, contrasting with his pale skin and chiseled features. Even the dagger sang a little louder. Something was off with this man. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen eyes so dark.”
“Family trait,” he commented, eyes lowering to the dagger. “You’ve sliced the tip of your finger, Kellie.”
“What?” she asked, totally captivated by his subtle movements and dark countenance.
“Your finger, Kellie. You’re bleeding on my dagger.”
“I’m so sorry,” she stammered, yanking her hand away, but gasped when he caught it.
“Allow me,” he whispered huskily, removing the glove, bringing her finger to his lips, and swirling his tongue around the tip.
