“You will tell Mr. Ganz to stop following me this instant!” I exclaimed, stepping towards him. “Why don’t you have him stalking your assistant or something?”
“I don’t want Yvette. I want you.”
My heart somersaulted in my chest. He never said it so openly before. And he sounded so cool, as if he’d just asked me what I wanted for breakfast.
“Well, tough,” I said, doing my best to appear indifferent.
I had to get out of here. The walls were closing in on me, and I had to leave if I wanted to survive.
I was about to walk past him when he stood in my way, all huge and tall, looking at me as if I was a worm next to his shoe. His mere stance intimidated me, not just because he looked like the devil himself in black slacks and a black button-down shirt, but also because I knew I wouldn’t be able to leave if he didn’t let me.
“You made a big mistake tonight,” he said coldly. “You just don’t know it yet.”
Arrogant piece of shit.
“I’m not having this conversation.”
I headed to the parlor, only to hear the door slamming shut when he followed me inside.
Shit.
“Do you want to fuck him?”
I kept moving. The parlor had another door that led to the library. He might have been bigger, but I was bound to be quicker.
“You’re out of your mind,” I said, when he grabbed my arm and spun me around.
“If a cheap drink is all it takes, I wouldn’t have offered millions,” he said through his teeth.
I raised my hand and slapped him across the cheek, so hard I felt my palm burning. The slap echoed around the room, pointing out just how big a mistake I had made.
