Today is a great day. Rise, sparkle, and read.✨
Here is an excerpt from my novel, The Story Queen.

Evie’s big eyes looked around the room with a wild gaze. She seemed timid and out of place, but her mouth moved like a bell clapper.
“Oh, I can’t take your handkerchief, Ms. Phillips. It is too pretty. I just can’t.” Evie spoke the words with a frown. She then looked away while waiting for the awkward silence.
“My dear little Evie, but I, I want you to have it.” Ms. Phillips spoke politely. “I would be pleased if you would accept it.” The elderly lady pleaded in a sincere manner.
Eventually, Evie accepted the kind gift. She stuck it in her pocket, and it stayed there until Mom found it in the wash. The small white handkerchief was embroidered with orange lacing. The neat designs ran across the fabric like a racing horse darting across the English countryside. I loved the thing. It reminded me of my days at Ms. Phillips small but quaint home.
