I love the way Kate DiCamillo writes. Her use of language, the way she draws us into her characters, the heart-gasp of the story - I love them all. Obviously, this does lead me with some high expectations when I open a new book of hers. But also a bit of fear, because what if this next book is the one I won't like? What if I've grown up too much (a serious concern for a children's writer) and I no longer feel these stories so deeply?
