once

When you lay ear to shell of a conch, you hear its ocean origin,
the way it sings to the sand.
When you lay face to hairy chest, you hear the wind-loved meadow it resembles,
tall blades reaching for every bloom.

Once there was a man who fell asleep, ear to conch, and woke up drowning.

Once I fell asleep, my face to his chest,
and caught migration. Overnight I grew
a belly bigger than my eyes,
pastured with future
and butterflies.

Day 6! Tomorrow I’ll be able to do this from my computer instead of phone. 🎉
