What do I do now?
Finished off a couple of final scenes for Closer, the fourth book in the Tunnels series, this afternoon and emailed them to the publisher, so now I have to wait for the copy-edited, proof-read version to wing its way back at me (which will mean working over Christmas). In the meantime, I feel as though I'm back at school and I've just finished my exams - I have absolutely no idea what to do with myself ... normal life again for a while? ... do I watch all those movies and books I've bought over the last year ... or sleep ... or start one of those other stories I've been dying to write for so long. Or maybe I'll just go on the internet and write a few blogs?

Closer's out in the US on February 1st, and the movie of the first book seems to be on track. It's been a long haul - the rights to the first book were sold back in 2007 - but I spoke to the director, Vincenzo Natali, a couple of weeks ago, which was just mindblowing. So glad it's in his hands. Filming is now due to start in the first half of 2011. Can't wait! Roderick
I love your series "Tunnels"! I can't wait for "Closer" and the movie to come out. Do you think the movie will stick to the books well?
Hi Aven, and thank you. I haven't seen the movie screenplay yet so don't know how true the producers are being to the book, but I know I'd change quite a few things for the big screen. I was told that Will would probably be a little older in the film, and that all the action would take place in London. And they are also going to make the Styx as scary as I'd like them to be!Roderick

i have just read ur 5th one and i was told by my granny that she found number 6 but couldn't buy it have you/are you writing number 6?also my school are always looking for authors to come in! I go to st aidans in Harrogate! You have probably had loads of schools pestering you about this so its just an idea nothing else!

Hi Beth, I haven't started T6 yet as I've been having a Tunnels holiday, but I'll probably begin on it soon if the publisher wants me to. I would love to give a talk at your school but Harrogate is quite a long hike even from where I live now in North Norfolk! However I might be doing a festival somewhere near there next year so maybe I could combine the two on the same trip?
What's the sixth one called? Will it end well? Do the stx get Topsoil? Don't answer that, just wondering! :) Does Drake live? Don't answer that to, I just want to get my questions out to someone!

Hi Roderick!When does the movie from the first book get published? I really want to see it, and i cant wait!! And how are you able to write a long story like this! I love to write but i cant write more than 50-100 pages. I really want to meet you, but i live to far away :( I'm a big fan. The biggest fan from Norway ;)
