J.K. Rowling contributes to The Women Who Wouldn’t Wheesht
J.K. Rowling is amongst the contributors to a new book published today and edited by Susan Dalgety and Lucy Hunter Blackburn. The Women Who Wouldn’t Wheesht is a collection of over thirty essays capturing an important moment in contemporary history: how a grassroots Scottish women’s movement, harking back to the suffragettes and second wave feminists of the 1970s and 1908s, took on the political establishment – and changed the course of history.
In this book women tell the story of their involvement in the five-year campaign to protect women’s sex-based rights, including leading SNP MP Joanna Cherry, Ash Regan MSP, and former prison governor Rhona Hotchkiss. The book is published by Constable in hardback and eBook, and on 6th June in audiobook.

I am truly excited to read this as it promises to be an important edition to the Womens' Rights movement but also to the history of Womens' rights. Moreover, it stands as a record of how such strong, compassionate and courageous women as the ones included in this anthology, have helped to change the misogynist narrative of recent times that has threatened everything that the womens' movement has achieved.

All I know is that the person who initially tweeted she was a denier (Rivkah Brown) later retracted her statement and apologized to Rowling for being false and offensive.
