Mid-Year Updates

So, it has been almost six months since I last posted here. I really need to get better about keeping everyone updated.

I would love to promise release dates, but at this point, life gets in the way too often. I am slowly making my way through re-editing all my released books and then finishing up my edits of Sunlord, the final book in my Sunweaver trilogy.

I would have liked to release it by the end of April. It has been five years since Fireweaver was published. I still have hopes that I can finish by the end of this year.

Right now, though, my biggest focus is maintaining my mental health. I need to find a balance. If I’m constantly trying to be productive, it is bad for my mental health. I need to constantly be aware of my limitations and not push past them.

At the end of the day, I write because I love telling stories. When it starts feeling like work, I have to take a step back and make sure I’m taking care of myself.

On top of my full-time job, I’m also looking to pursue my Master’s degree. It will only be one course a semester, but it will eat up another chunk of my time. I’d love to devote myself fully to my writing, but my day job pays the bills, and I generally lose money on my writing. It’s a harsh truth, but that is the case for many indie authors early on. It can be very demoralizing when you put so much work into something and you just don’t see the results you’d like.

So, I will keep writing. I will keep editing. It may not be at the pace I’d like, but I need to focus on other priorities at the moment.

As always, thanks for reading.
