An update
Good Morning! I just wanted to share an update. I have recently released my second book – the second installment in the Class Wars series – Healing a Broken Spirit, and have spent the last month marketing it as well as resting and enjoying all the things that I put aside during the writing process. However, having been about a month since Healing a Broken Spirit’s release, I feel that my writing itch has started to make a nuisance of itself again.
I have been overwhelmed by the love and support I have received during this journey that began in my teenage bedroom in South Africa and continues in my house in Scotland on a daily basis. I have loved writing the Class Wars series as much as, I hope, you have loved – and many more will love – reading them. While this is not the end of this series, I cannot deny that over the course of the last month I have been overwhelmingly overcome with the desire to write a story that came to me on a warm day around 3 days after my second book’s release.
When I began writing the Class Wars series I hadn’t the foggiest idea of where that particular story would take me, and I was surprised to find that my writing delved into the realms of thriller – a genre that I have very limited experience with from a reading perspective. Growing up I was always reading fantasy, contemporary or young adult novels. My entire literary heritage was built off of the Landy’s, Green’s, and Ness’s – to name a select few – and developed by the Roth’s, Bardugo’s and Bronte’s of this world. So when I wrote – not one, but – two thrillers it came as a surprise, even to me. But that is what writing is about, allowing the story to tell itself through you and your life experiences. Having said that, I would now like to say that the story that has overcome me is most definitely a fantasy.
I hope that those of you who read my posts and have read and loved the Class Wars series will love the first installment of The Oron Particle: The Darkness in Light. A novel that follows Jetton Plim as he travels the lands of Akron to try and obtain the Oron Particle.
I will be providing future updates as the story develops!
In the meantime, if you haven’t already, follow me on Goodreads, where I regularly share my reading activity and reviews.
Until Next Time
Sam
