thirty seventh edition. — a poem

thirty 7th edition. — a poem

i wish there was a way to pick and choose
which memories to keep which to lose
maybe tick off boxes in a trifold pamphlet
places i’ve been things i said people met
smooth out the edges of childhood trauma
focus on the day with the rescue llama
why the endless loop of strange encounters?
infinity playback of friendship sours
check mark cross hatch fill in the blank
there are a few people i would like to thank
kindly rewind and circle all that apply
please just tell me how to simplify
