UPDATE - My second novel is complete, and it is currently going through editing. The past 16 months have been very, very trying. I must admit, writing books is not as easy as I thought! Not so much of the creating, but more of the consistency. Staying in the world of your story in the midst of dealing with REAL LIFE. Staying committed and cracking all of the intricate codes as they come. Without a question, this was one of the hardest things I ever did! Being on the other side of it now, I'm happy that I did not force it into something quick. Ya know? I took my time, took breaks, and even made multiple plot changes so that my mind could see things through. One beautiful thing I'd like to share as well: the ending was just as much as a surprise as my first project (1842). Right when I got to the last chapter, an idea came into my head that revolutionized the entire story. I must have paced around my front yard for, like, fifteen minutes, happily thinking about how to flesh out the surrounding details. At that point, all the groundwork was done. I had done all the heavy lifting. The only thing left to do was to finish without losing the story's integrity. To have received that, and then carefully created it out, was a monumental blessing. Completing my second book was a real achievement, and I mean that with everything inside of me. I am so excited to get to tell you more about it soon!
