Corn vs Erotica
Because the algorithms and social media don’t like the P word and I want this blog read, I am using the word corn, because they are prats and wish to silence such things.
The difference between corn and erotica is that corn is visual. Erotica is read. I always think of erotica as f-ing with your mind and corn is f-ing with a body.
Now, I’m not here to promote corn, I find most of it degrading, and male-centric, and the lesbian versions are obviously made for male entertainment. Rarely have I seen corn that is for the arousal of women. I have known women who enjoy corn and that’s to their own, pardon the pun, tastes. For me, rarely have I seen anything that drew my interest.
So, I’ll stick to writing romance with sex scenes that do not fade to black, in fact, some would say they are erotica. I have written erotica. In my early writing career, I wrote quite a lot of it. Some of it was love letters I had written to my girlfriend at the time and rewrote as stories for public viewing. In fact, she read some of it and stated, “I don’t quite remember it like that.” That’s because I write fiction, not fact.
People who do not read lesbian fiction, sapphic fiction, or women-loving women fiction, even if it is non-fiction, they consider sex between two consenting women to be corn. Whether it is fiction or non-fiction, to these narrow-minded individuals, it is forbidden and should not be seen. I say if you don’t like lesbian fiction, sapphic fiction, or women-loving women fiction, don’t read it. So why should they have the right to take away others’ rights to read it?
That leads me to the real subject of this blog, Project 2025. Now, if you have read it or not, one of the aspects of this Project that is not being talked about is the fact that they want to make corn, illegal, punishing people with prison for viewing or reading it. Since they already are narrow-minded enough to consider anything lesbian to be corn, whether you have it being fade-to-black or not, listing it as romance, would be enough to get it taken down. The making or distribution of corn or in this case lesbian fiction could also be illegal.
You’re probably thinking I’m overreaching here. I assure you I am not. It’s not only lesbian fiction (and believe me the LGBT community at large has these narrow-minded fools slavering over the idea that they can take away more of our rights), but it also affects any romance writer out there. Think about those who read romance or those who write it, would, if this Project passes, be doing something illegal and face prison for doing so.
As quickly as they could sign an executive order, our books would be banned.
Go read Project 2025, take your blood pressure pills before you do, but knowledge is power, and they want to take all the power for themselves through these carefully worded and ridiculous projects. We are at war people, and these battles, while small, are part of the bigger picture.
