A happy (close to) end of July, everybody!

I’d hoped to have another book launch announcement ready for you by this time, but vacationing and other Outside World distractions argued otherwise; hence, also, the lateness of this month’s post. The launch isn’t far away, however; “Les Mariannes”, set within the world of my earlier Alternate History novella Divided Worlds: An Alternate Space Race, is done with final edits, and only awaits a last round of formatting and cover tweaks. Hopefully, both will be done by this weekend, or perhaps sooner, and August will start with a proper liftoff–along with, quite possibly, a true finish to the work on my fourth Cross & Flag draft, Reckonings!

There’s other, better news, too–which may turn to great very soon! For those who haven’t seen the official press release (attached here), I am excited to say that my AH short story “Toe-to-Toe”, published by Sea Lion Press, has been nominated for the (Short Form) Sidewise Award for Alternate History! Still a bit dazed by this out-of-the-blue honor, but also incredibly thrilled, and counting the days till the formal winners announcement weekend after next!

Well…can’t think of any other significant writing news (certainly none to match this, LOL). So I’ll sign off here with the links and pitch for the latest sale of my books on Kindle (Dillinger in Charleston and Dixie Curtain). Keep an eye out for the next post, and enjoy the start of August!
