Goodbye Summer Hello Fall. Entering a new season and a writing update.

This week I’m officially taking down my summer garden and getting our backyard ready for cooler weather. It’s still 90 degrees here in Saint Louis but after returning from Cancun I feel like my summer days are now behind me. For those who love scorching heat and getting bite by mosquitoes I apologize but I couldn’t be more happy to step into a new season.

With this change in season I also started a couple fall college classes on my long journey to finally finish college after a six year gap. What does that mean for my writing? It’s on pause. I have about 15,000 words in my next book for K.D Clark. I’m beyond ready for Natalie and Dante’s story! I also did some great research in Mexico for the book.

I have about 9,000 words on a super secret project that I’m keeping under wraps. It’s completely different than anything else I’ve written and I can’t wait to change direction for a bit!

Although stopping in the middle of a writing project is never easy I’ve found that to have a more balanced life it is necessary. I must embrace seasons of focused writing (when I’m in break from school) and also embrace seasons that allow me more freedom to have joy, spend time with friends, workout, etc.

How are you embracing the change of season? Are you ready for fall weather yet?
