The text in these poem collages is composed exclusively of words and phrases from an old, disintegrating, sellotaped paperback copy of Carson McCullers’ The Heart is a Lonely Hunter that I found in my local Free Little Library. The working title for the project is Hearthstone / Shadowlands, and it focuses on the neurodivergent experience, association and dissociation. A few more journals have picked up pieces from this manuscript, so there will be more soon if you like what you see in Petrichor.
