The prince of wales is set to deliver a landmark speech on nature today as he continues his visit to South Africa.
Prince William began his four-day visit to the Commonwealth nation on Monday and in the coming days will take part in a series of events shining a light on young African climate activists and promoting his passion project, the Earthshot Awards ceremonywhich will be held on Wednesday.
Today, William is due to hold a high-level meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in Cape Town, in what has been described as a “follow-on” to the state visit he made to the UK in 2022. They will be joined by foreign minister David Lammy for a meeting with his South African counterpart Ronald Lamola.
William will also attend Earthshot+, a day of talks with leading global experts aimed at enhancing the impact of the Earthshot Prize, with the event featuring a young conservationist, an Earthshot Trustee and Mr Lammy, among others.
Later in the day, the future king will deliver a major speech on nature, the environment and his support for wildlife rangers at the start of a two-day summit of United for Wildlife, his umbrella organization that fights illegal animal trafficking.
