Back In The Saddle

This is a shot of me, my wife, her sister, my oldest son’s girlfriend, Ada, and my oldest son, Patrick at a beautiful waterfall in Tennessee. You may note the sleeve on my left knee. After decades of delaying the inevitable, I finally had my left knee replaced in April of 2024. I’ve met a few people since who’ve had both knees done at the same time, and I am totally in awe of those people.

I wouldn’t say that I’m overjoyed that I had the surgery. Not yet anyway, but I can envision the day when I will. I discovered that when the doctor said it would take a full year to recover, what he meant was it would take a full year to recover. I rehabbed like a maniac, but there are some aspects of recovery that just take time.

However, now that I have completed my Ed.S. degree, gotten my knee replaced, and reacquired the rights to my Darkwater books, I am working at writing again. Those “muscles” are a little out of tone, but I’m working to get them back.

Wish me luck and drop me a line sometime.

– Patrick
