WIP -progressed

So I have spent the last three months writing my next book.

With my debut under my belt, I never anticipated the rollercoaster of emotions of putting your work out there. I am relieved that Three's A Crowd has been well received and that gave me the courage to write my next one, which is now ready, I just need to check its not terrible by getting a few people I trust to read it and tell me.

I worry that it is quite different from my first, yes spicy, but with multiple POV instead one one POV it was far harder to write, it also jumps around time, forward and back. So keen to see if it can be followed. As the author I know what happens, I know the story, it makes sense to me, but I need a neutral person who knows nothing to understand how it scans for a reader.

I am unsure if I will publish this one, as I am scared it will be a let down over my first. I am not a professional or a trained writer, so really have no clue what I am doing other than suddenly having all these stories in my head I need to get on paper.

Three's A Crowd is hitting people well, but still very unknown and undiscovered, I have 2 more to write in that series and then some spin off's from it.

Whilst I am realistic I wont be giving the day job up anytime soon, I just want readers who will enjoy it to find it and that is extremely hard.

I think I have finally settled on the title for this new book.

The Pendulm effect and the summary of what it is about is below:

In a world on the brink, love, lust and power collide—will resilience save humanity or destroy it?

In a world teetering on the edge of transformation, an underground organisation rises to impose their vision of balance on society—at a cost that could obliterate humanity. The majority of the population remains blissfully unaware of the coming storm, but for three families, the chaos is about to hit home.
Ellie’s relationship seems picture-perfect: a driven A&E consultant and women's rights advocate married to Ben, an electrician, raising their daughter, Lucy. But beneath the surface, Ben harbors a dark secret that could shatter their family as the world crumbles around them. Can they protect Lucy from the chaos unraveling in their lives?
Laura and Marty’s marriage is strained under the weight of unspoken dreams. Laura, once ambitious, feels invisible after years of prioritizing her career and their two children, Charlie and Sophie. But with an uprising targeting women across the globe, she must rediscover her strength to protect Sophie and hold onto her family’s fragile happiness.
Jack, a possessive wealthy alpha male property investor and Sally a fearless journalist, the envy of everyone around them, have built a life fueled by passion and adventure. But when Sally’s independent spirit collides with Jack’s desires, she faces an impossible choice: chase her dreams or hold onto the love of her life in a world spiraling into upheaval.
As the fight for control and survival intensifies, these families will be pushed to their limits. Love, loyalty, and resilience will be tested in ways they never imagined. Will they rise together—or fall apart in the face of an uncertain future?
Spanning generations, this gripping novel takes readers into a future transformed. Observing the growth of their children and grandchildren navigating a dystopian world struggling to restore balance and save humanity, the question remains: can love and resilience endure in the face of irreversible change?
Gripping, spicy, heart-wrenching, and thought-provoking, The Pendulum Effect is a story of human connection in the shadow of global catastrophe.

If you have read Three's a Crowd you will see how this is quite different, but I have enjoyed letting my imagination run wild with what a future world after destruction may look like.

So keep an eye out, this may be coming soon, it may be shelved... who knows!

But one thing is for sure Jessie's story will continue, and in the next book we find out who the guy is thats been popping up and observing her from a distance is and discover what happens next between her and Sam.
