Happy 2025!
May your commitments come true, and your TBR list grow to astronomical proportions!
Let me start with a confession: I don’t do newsletters or blog posts often. In fact, this is my very first “real” one. Hopefully, you’ll stick around and not swipe left on this update, because I’ve got some exciting news to share!
Book AnnouncementsYes, that’s plural.
If you loved Desperation (and wanted to smack me for the cliffhanger), you’ll be thrilled to know that Book 2 is officially on its way! It’s contracted for publication and should hit shelves sometime in 2025—hopefully by summer. I don’t have the exact release date yet (edits come first), but I promise I’ll send out another newsletter when it’s set in stone.
Even more exciting: the title reveal! Book 2 is called Revelation. If you’ve read the final chapter of Desperation, you can probably guess what revelation I’m talking about. But trust me, there are plenty of curveballs ahead. Here’s a little teaser to get you excited—and yes, I meant it that way.
Prince Aurek Romanov, once my nightmare, is now an enigma I cannot escape—or punch in the throat. He burns through my veins and dominates my thoughts, forcing me to confront desires I buried long ago. When we touch, reality shatters, leaving fire and chaos in its wake.
But the world doesn’t pause for dissonant hearts.
An army marches on the Sky Throne. Maelstrom’s hunt for me grows desperate. Admissions, both dark and devastating, destroy the life I made, leaving me with one resolute choice: protect my people.
I’m Princess Charlotte Valois, heir to the Sky Throne. War is at my kingdom’s door. Enemies lurk within my ranks. The undead want me as their trophy, and the prince I should despise has somehow entwined himself with my heart. Can I reclaim my birthright, or will the ghosts of my past consume me first?
And of course, a picture reel of some of the character art and teasers I’ve been showing at recent events!

Some differences you’ll find from Deperation to Revevlation are the spice level, pace, and excitement. All of it took a collective dose of caffiene and are ready to rock and roll. I hope you’re ready for some steam because this party is just getting started.
In other exciting news, Astronaut Publishing is diving into its first project, and I’m beyond thrilled to be part of it! The anthology is also set to release in 2025, and just thinking about it gives me shivers. Just hearing some of the behind the scene details, I am so excited. My fellow authors have put out some amazing works. If you even remotely liked my works, you will love this anthology!
2025 EventsSo far, I’ve only signed up for one event, but it’s a big one: the Emerald City Romance Author and Reader Event! It’s back for its second year with an amazing lineup of attending authors. And as a bonus, the tattoos are coming back—woot woot!
If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you there. Mark your calendar:
June 14th, 11 AM to 5 PM
South Seattle College
Fun fact about me: I can’t read a great book and write at the same time. It’s like my brain can only handle one obsession at a time. So, during a much-needed writing break over the last two months, I stumbled across an author I can’t get enough of: J.T. Geissinger.
Her book Pen Pal sucked me in, chewed me up, and spat me out—then shoved me straight into Ruthless Creatures. If you’re looking for a binge-worthy read (with a few trigger warnings here and there—think of it as a shopping list), I can’t recommend these enough.
Final NoteThank you for taking the time to read through my very first newsletter/blog post of 2025. Hopefully, I didn’t bore you to death (or make you regret subscribing). My updates won’t come often, but when they do, they’ll be packed with all the goodness—kind of like Rhysand when he does that thing… you know the one.
If you decide email updates aren’t your thing, no hard feelings. You can always keep up with me on social media! (Links in the footer)
Take care, and here’s to an amazing year!
With love,
Becca Ryden
