Writing is a great escape these days

Hi all. I've been busy writing the next book, due in April. Making great progress. The FMC is one of the most complicated I've ever tackled, and I'm enjoying creating her personality and conflict. Of course this book will have a happy ending, because it's a romance and the characters deserve their happy ending!

I started writing romance novels more than 2 decades ago for the happy endings. Unlike some fiction, which can be quite grim, romance novels assure the reader of a happy ending or a HFN. Real life doesn't always have a happy ending, so romance novels gave me an escape.

I enjoy creating conflict for characters and having them iron out solutions through their own personal growth and character arc. Writing suspense books - romantic suspense - where you have to incorporate the mystery AND the character conflict and relationships and romance - is a challenge.
The challenge is one I enjoy and now that I am no longer working a day job, I have more time and energy to devote to books.
In the meantime, DESPERATE JUSTICE, my next HQ romantic suspense, is up for pre-order on Amazon and other vendors. It's out this October. This is Rafe's book and you met Rafe in Escape from Devil's Den.
Happy reading!
