Quips & Musings Corner By Kai Leakes (Movie & TV Reviews): Harlem [🏆Fave 2025 Watch]

HARLEM: The Final Season 'Damn this went by fast' Watch:WHERE TO WATCH: [Amazon Prime] Seasons 1-3

🏆Fave 2025 Watch

SUMMATION: Four ambitious best friends, Camille, Tye, Quinn and Angie, navigate relationships and careers in New York City.

QUIP: Happy Black History/Beyonce & Kendrick Month. So...My goodness! Season three started with me saying that and now ended with me saying it. Who would have thought that this show would have grown on me and become the gem and fave that it did. I took a chance on watching something headed by my imaginary arch-nemesis to sitting here wallowing over now not having anything Black female-centered to watch anymore. These networks took and canceled all our TINGS!😫 *wrings my hands*

Now let me focus back to season three of Harlem, this ish went by FAST and for it to be a final at six episodes, it was a major disservice that it WAS so short. (I blame my arch-nemesis, her eyebrows, and her man: One final light-hearted petty dig😉).

We open up with ALL the mess kicking up from last season...who put that baby in which one of our fave sistas bun! (*Gator voice*). Then the ride goes on from there. We never shake the Ian and Camille drama, We wonder where Quinn's heart will lead her next, we go into the kick start of our hope for Angie getting all the 'tings, and dive into crossing our fingers about Tye finally healing and getting her 'ish together. This season gave me some things (yet again) at my age that I could relate to and I was thankful to see them portrayed.

I have a longstanding opinion that my generation's voice (80's baby) in TV/film is being erased so to have this show talk on topics about us too...I loved it and again...will miss this messy, but love letter to us Black women, and of course all things Black and Harlem (A place I once longed to live at). I will hold this series close to my heart as another show that can be added as an addendum of a love letter to 'Living Single.'  Ya'll pulled it off well.

Goodbye, Harlem, and thank you for your love this Black History Month.

RATING: 5/5 Hearts 💜💜💜💜💜
