So, I put my first blog on my new website
www.danielborough.com (essentially this one).
So, I’ve written my first book, “Poisoned Mind”, a thriller. I set up my website at the weekend. I have a Twitter account @DanielBorough , my book is available on various websites to buy at a ludicrously low price, and I already have a few good reviews, some on Amazon, some on booksonboard.com and some on Goodreads.com
It’s all a bit weird. I’ve been working towards this for ages, and looking forward to getting to this point and now, for some reason I feel as nervous as hell, you know driving test kind of nervous.
Poisoned Mind appears to be being purchased, and evidently because of the reviews, read, so that’s good, but I have to say, it’s a bit of a lonely business as I don’t have an agent to gee me up and my publisher is a pretty anonymous entity. So it’s me, some nice people on Twitter and some people that I have never spoken to reading my book. Very strange!
I’m really looking forward to getting on with some writing now that I have set the ball rolling with Poisoned Mind. My current project is also a thriller/crime novel and its working title is “The Killer”. Its actual title may end up being that but I’ve not checked to see what other works out there have the same title yet.
Right, so what I really want now is some contact from people that are (a) reading this blog, (b) reading my book, so I know I’m not imagining all this. My email address is Daniel.borough@gmail.com
It was really strange being on the Underground in London yesterday with the plot of Poisoned Mind still fresh in my mind. I could picture the characters down there doing their stuff and started looking around me at my fellow travellers wondering what their individual stories were.
Right, I’m going to stop now, I’ll try to blog again tomorrow.
If you want to know anything about Poisoned Mind, tell me anything or just say hello, you know how to reach me now.
Bye for now
Dan
Wanted to let you know you are not imagining. Being a writer is sometimes a lonely business. It took me 20 years to write my first book, the true crime thriller "Fighting the Devil". My book is about a true life murder with arsenic poison. I have also met some really nice people that I haven't met or even spoken to in person on Twitter, Facebook and here on Goodreads. God bless you my dear friend. You are a very interesting person. Please keep in touch. Jeannie Walker
