Dark Corners
The Farm: The More Times Change, The More Crimes Stay The Same.
There are many dark corners of history that are duly long forgotten. These corners are often derived from the best human intentions but have devolved into dark secrets deemed best swept under the rug. I believe forgetting about these historical pariahs is forgetting about the dark side to human nature and does a disservice to current generations not exposed to the dirty little secrets in our collective past.
The Farm originated not because I was searching for the most egregious circumstance in history, but because it hit so close to home for me as the author. Unbeknown to my family when we moved to Martinsville, we literally were living on the notorious "Farm" described in the book. This discovery led to years of research and the chapters of The Farm are filled with historical references to the Civil War era presented in the script.
The Farm follows two parallel timelines and compares how in the notorious small Southern Indiana Town of Martinsville; The More Times Change, The More Crimes Stay The Same.
