G20 'A Weekend Movie Watch with all the smoketh' Quip:[Watch on Amazon Prime]

SUMMATION: When terrorists take over the G20 summit, US President Danielle Sutton uses her governing and military experience to defend her family, fellow leaders, and the world.

QUIP: So...walking in with my Annalise/Viola stride, I was told to check this out because this one dropped outta nowhere for me. I literally had no idea that Dame Viola Davis had a movie coming out, let alone releasing the day that it did. So with that, I nicely added it to my watchlist in support and I was not disappointed. Miss Viola stated that this movie was for us sistas who are not represented in Hollywack, not represented in the action genre, not represented in the thread of older women who kick ass genre. 

I'll even say that this is for the black families that aren't represented enough in film. This is for us who enjoy such stories and I'm proud that she is using her agency in this way.

Viola steps into a character role as Madam President Sutton, who is working to bring together a plan to help stop global hunger, by heading up a global summit in South Africa, but there is more to this. A lot more, including some arse-kicking beat points that I greatly enjoyed. The overarching storyline and collective meat and potatoes of this story really wasn't about anything. We get our usual family dysfunction story with the tropes wrapped around a Presidiantal story, on top of a criminal mercenary terrorist trope, but that doesn't take away from a simple enjoying the overarching movie and the lovely representation going on. Check this out to pass the time.
