Panel 1- my newest book Knots takes place in the small town of Cheney, WA, where I lived for two years as a kid

Panel 2- why? First it’s semiautobiograpical. Second, as a kid growing up in small towns it was always a BIG DEAL when your town was mentioned somewhere-Drawing of an old television with an arrow pointing to it that says Bugs Bunny, and word balloon that reads “We’re from the Wishy Washy Washing Machine Company of Walla Walla WA"A small kid is watching TV, there is an arrow pointing to them that says "tangled hair”, and the kid is saying “I was born there!”

Panel 4- so I tried to do right by CheneyBelow the caption are 3 images from the book Knots, showing the town of Cheney WA

Panel 3- it was also real disappointing when they got it wrong. There’s a drawing of a foot kicking a copy of Twilight, with a word balloon that says “I detest Forks”.

Panel 5-and guess they didn’t hate it because I’ve been invited back! Wed May 21st Speaking with EWU’s contemporary art and visual storytelling classes at 2pm. Cheney Public Library “Anyone Can Make Comics” talk at 4pm. Thurs May 22- morning TBD, want me to visit your school or class? Leave a comment!
