My email comes with blazing sunshine as the weather is glorious this Monday in the UK. I do hope the sun is shining where you are.

I bring to your inbox today, news not about my books, stories or author life but another book — a children's book which I only heard about this week.

I happened to catch a reel on Instagram of actor Tom Hardy reading a book called

for the programme.

The story caught my attention as the theme surrounds missing and being separated from your loved ones, places and things due to geography. I think we can all resonate with this on some level and I know this feeling all too well. 

We can be anywhere in the world within 24 hours yet during the humdrum of day-to-day life, a person or place only a 10, 6 or 4-hour flight away feels to be in a different universe and the chance of being reunited again seems impossible.

Yet as author, Britta Teckentrup tells with her beautifully illustrated tale, we are all under the same sky and life, often out of nowhere, delivers an answer, a solution or an ideal thing to make one feel closer. It is always the perfect match for you as an individual to feel better too... as with anything in life, no one answer fits all.

I tend to lean towards writing for young adults (12-18yrs) and new adults (18-25yrs) but you never know, I might give penning something for the under 8's a go one day!

Whilst we are on the topic...

Another children's story I absolutely adore is a book I bought one Saturday afternoon (in an independent bookshop) South Kensington Books. I immediately hot-footed it to a nearby cafe to read it. This was a few years ago but I still have it on my bookshelf. Maybe I'll read this on Instagram live for you all — who needs CBeebies! 

I digress.
