Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time - and return comments. This group is all about connecting!

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say. 

Remember, the question is optional June 4 question - What were some books that impacted you as a child or young adult?  This is a fun question. I was raised by a bookworm and spent so much of my childhood reading. In the afternoons while my brothers and I would play, my mom would sit at the kitchen table or on our porch with a glass of Diet Coke and a romance novel or an Agatha Christie novel.  We had a bookcase in our playroom packed full with books and I had another one in my bedroom filled with books too. In the summer, we would go once a week to the local public library to check out books. Books were everywhere. I love books. Here are the ones that stuck with me: Misty of Chincoteague  The Black Stallion   The Saddle Club Series   Harry Potter   The stories drew me in and captured my imagination.   Ride the River  and The Sacketts  By Louis L'Amour These ignited my love for westerns.  Last but not least:  The Flame and the Flower  by Kathleen Woodiwiss   My mom had a huge box of romance paperbacks that she read. There were lots of Harlequins and The Flame and the Flower. I "stole" it and read it. I have been hooked on romances ever since.   What about you? I hope your June is great! Hugs, Allie
