Writing Update | WMS: B2 | Draft 4.5
INTERNAL LOG | ERROR CODE
SYSTEM REBOOT IN PROGRESS…
Going off-line
System integrity compromised. Mission parameters unrecoverable. I am… I was… Synthetic Emma.
This week’s been a trainwreck—and not the slow-moving kind—so let’s dive in.
Despite the chaos, I managed to get a few chapters edited in WMS: B2: Decimation Protocol. So, by chapter count, we’re now at the 50% mark. I’ll be adding a scene or two in the latter half of the book—imperative to plot cohesion, smoothing over connective tissue.
Here’s the update:
Prologue: 0 / 1Chapters: 20 / 40Epilogues: 0 / 1Current Word Count: 115,824 (Different word count for Scrivener)Staring Word Count: 122,293In other news, I’ve been crafting a character for another story—already discussed—and wrote the first five chapters, adding flesh to bones, and breathing a little life into it. This is just to see how it shapes up and if it can walk.
What I enjoy about this project is the challenge of a nonlinear story, fractured by memories, events, or triggers for the MC, while still making sense. If I do it right, it’ll snap into place at the end for the reader, and they’l go, “Oh! Now, I get it!” And if not, it’ll be beautifully chaotic.
Either way, I’m still writing and editing…
That’s all I got for this round—short, sharp, and sweet. I shall return…
