What to read in June 2025

What I’ve Been Reading, Watching & Loving This June (Besides Launching Turn Around!)

Hello from Texas! June has been a whirlwind. The first book in my brand-new women’s fiction series, Turn Around, officially launched, and I couldn’t be more excited. If you’ve already picked it up (thank you!), you know it’s full of heart, change, and second chances.

But after the rollercoaster of book promotion, I needed an escape. My brain demanded downtime. Enter: cozy mysteries, comfort TV, and a few tech-troubled audiobooks. Here’s what I’ve been loving this month:

📚 Cozy Crime, Corgis & a Touch of the Paranormal

Lately, I’ve been craving that sweet spot of mystery without the gore — and T. Thorn Coyle’s Pride Street Paranormal Cozy Mystery series totally delivered. I flew through all three books!

The series follows Garrett and John, a happily married couple solving local murders (as one does) with the help of their adorable corgis, Marsha and Klaus. Yes, murder is technically involved, but in true cozy fashion, it’s light, quirky, and often sparkly — especially with the ghostly presence of Adam in the mix.

Honestly, I didn’t expect to enjoy this paranormal cozy mystery series as much as I did. Now I’m hoping more books are on the way. I already miss Marsha and Klaus!

📺 My Binge-Watch List: From ER Flashbacks to Tattooed Intrigue

When I wasn’t curled up with a cozy crime caper, I was glued to my screen.

I kicked things off with The Pitt. And yes, I’m still stunned that Noah Wyle is back in the emergency room.  Who else was glued to ER every Thursday night at 9 p.m. back in the day? #iamthatold #mustseetv90s

After that nostalgia trip, I dove into Blindspot on Netflix. I know, I’m about five years behind (what else is new?), but I’m fascinated by the premise. Jane’s tattoo-covered body is a living puzzle, and each episode reveals new clues. I’m still in season one, and I keep looking for excuses to sneak in just one more episode.

🎧 Audiobooks on Hold… For Now

My audiobook listening hit a bit of a snag this month thanks to some tech issues. Fingers crossed I’ve fixed the problem! I’ve got a few queued up and hope to share some great listens with you in next month’s wrap-up.

Have You Read Turn Around Yet?

Whether you’re reading thrillers, romance, or the latest beach read, I’d love to hear what’s on your nightstand this month. And if Turn Around made your summer TBR list, thank you! Your support means the world.

If you’ve finished it and want to spread the love, reviews are always appreciated! Drop one on Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub, or your favorite e-retailer.

Until next month — happy reading, happy watching, and happy cozy mystery hunting!
