Ironheart 'Go Riri-That's our Riri' Watch/Quip:WHERE TO WATCH: Disney+ [3 eps. Premiere]

SUMMINATION: Origin story of genius teenage inventor Riri Williams, who creates the most advanced suit of armour since Iron Man.

QUIP: So, here we FINALLY are, after so many summers, moons, winters, and eons of the Mouse ignoring our girl here and NOT promoting this show. The opening three premiere origin story episodes kick off for Ms. Riri Williams, our beloved (at this time) future Iron Man heir apparent...and CHI-TOWN STAND UP!!! It was kind of nice to see where I once lived for a short time and familiar spots. Southside Chicago. As was in the comic (which I highly suggest you all read), we get to see where Riri came from, and not just see her as a brief one-dimensional introduction of use for other superheroes. We're also introduced to her community and the budding villains around her.
Riri is going through a lot...as is usually the case with a lot of our budding heroes. What I love about her story (unlike others) in the comic and now in this show, we get to see what a struggling genius has to go through to get to the path of herodom. And by see it, I mean, when you're broke, how the heck do you get what you need to build what you need? We get to see that. As like with the slinging spider, when you're grieving, what does using that grief to survive look like wrapped in the story of a Black young female genius from the Southside of Chi-town?  

So far, the show is enjoyable, including cute pop-culture quips that made me smile as an 80's baby and 90's kid (and good't music). I felt included in this (thank you to the Cooglers!). As a reader of the comic, it was interesting to see the slight changes with this adaptation, but we have a long way to go to include more from the source material. I am just happy that we have Riri here finally, and the story is...GOOD'T and still loyal to the source in its own way!

Also...MANNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! And yes...everyone is damn pretty!!! 😎

P.S. If you read Sin Eaters...a specific thang (and slight interpretation change from the comic) going on with a major character is reminding me of one of mine. IJS. 👀👀*looks at the camera*
