I know I won't be the only one devastated to hear this news. Jesse's writing was some of the first openly queer fantasy I'd ever read, unapologetically gay and unafraid. I devoured Metanoia, and Jack Saturday, and the Mafia stories as a teenager, and even though I haven't really read any of his work since... maybe 2015, not a week has gone by that I haven't thought about it in some way, that it hasn't influenced my own writing or thinking in some way. And now, there will be no more writing from him; his story is ended; the ink has dried.

Goodbye, Jesse, and thank you for all the worlds that your writing you gave us. May your merit stand as a witness for you, and speed you to the far shore.
