My four best reads of 2024

I listened to this one and not only is it a wonderful book but the narration by Kerry Gilbert is first rate. Y’all, this was my first Sophie Cousens book but it will certainly not be my last. In fact, I’m already listening to This Time, Next Year. This book is a romance which leans more toward the heroine’s journey and I adored that journey! The tropes, if you like that sort of thing, is workplace romance, rivals, single mom, and age gap (younger man.) The funny level is high, the heat level is low, so not a spicy book, and that suits me fine. Books like this are the reason I read romance. A feel good, happy ending which will leave you smiling. Oh my goodness! What a wild ride with this book. Some of you already know that while I don’t write thrillers, I love to read them! I’m a Dateline devotee, and Keith Morrison fan. I personally wouldn’t call this a thriller per se, it’s actually better, in my opinion. The suspense goes a level above what you would normally see in a romantic suspense book because the love story in it is not necessarily the main event. However, there IS a lovely romance which doesn’t end badly (HEA). Heat level is low to medium. There’s also a unique twist to this one and starts the mystery. Imagine if you get a text five years late! I think you’ll love it. Click here to learn more. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oh wow, guys, this book! It’s funny, and poignant, and deeply emotional. A GMA pick, this is a romance but also primarily the heroine’s journey. Told in the first person POV of the heroine, we observe her grow as a person from the moment she chokes, dies, goes to heaven, and meets the love of her life! Yes, you READ that right. She dies! But no worries, this has a happy ending here on Earth, love story included. Heat level is medium. It’s truly unlike anything I’ve ever read before and I was hooked from the first page. I listened to this book after a friend recommended it, and now I’m passing on the favor! A Reese’s Book Club pick, this is a sort of cat and mouse game suspense thriller. There’s not much of a love story in here, it’s really more of a subplot, but there is one, and it’s satisfying. Low heat level which is appropriate for the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
