The Keys to True Abundance

In this time of enormous change, it’s easy to correlate abundance only with money. The Akashic Masters have told me repeatedly that in order for the New Earth to rise, we must expand our definition of abundance to include love, connection, and peace in all areas of our lives. Money is not the only thing that matters. 

The focus of abundance 

A lot of newer spiritual guidance focuses on abundance and money. It implies that being wealthy means you can have what you deserve. It protects you and makes life easier. Because of this, many of us spend a lot of time doing the work to manifest wealth at the expense of the other areas in our lives that also lack abundance. 

The Akashic Masters also remind us that the more we advance on our spiritual journey, the trickier our egos can become. It’s easy to use service and generosity as masks to distort our real motivation in creating wealth. Now, more than ever, it’s essential for us to be aware of the games the ego can play so that we remain on the path that supports the creation of the New Earth. 

All she wanted to do was help her community 

Robin contacted me because she was frustrated that her husband and son didn’t support her efforts to create profitable businesses that benefited their community. “It’s not that I don’t want to spend time with them,” she said. “All I want to do is make the place I live more economically stable. They should be grateful I want to leave a positive legacy for my grandchildren.” 

She told me she and her husband had purposely chosen an underserved area to buy a house so they could make a difference, but after eight years of hard work, none of her ventures were making a profit, and she’d missed a lot of family time in the process.  

Her husband insisted on counseling, so she forced herself to go. “All it did was make me angrier,” she said. “No one seems to understand my perspective.” She viewed exploring her Akashic Records as a last chance of sorts to save her relationships with her husband and son. 

When we opened Robin’s Akashic Records, we watched her work the streets as a prostitute. She tolerated being objectified and treated shabbily so she could afford the dingy room she rented in a rundown building with other ladies employed in the same work.

In the time we watched, she was injured, treated for a disease she contracted from a client, and had her rent stolen from her room by another woman in the boarding house. The landlord kicked her out in the middle of the winter, so she shoplifted in order to get arrested in order to have a warm place to sleep. 

The last image we saw was her, in tattered clothes, sitting in a damp cell with several other women, wondering how she’d survive when she was released.

Robin was quiet for a moment. When she tried to speak, she was very emotional. “I get it now.” She didn’t say anything else for a while, and I allowed her space to be exactly where she was. Eventually, she shared her epiphany. 

“I could barely breathe hearing that,” she admitted. “And that fear has never left me. All this time, I thought I was committed to making my community better, to improving the life my grandchildren would have. That was a part of it, but I see now it wasn’t my primary motivation. What really mattered was never again having to prostitute myself to a job just so I could survive. But I hid that behind appearing benevolent.” 

Her powerful realization was a lot to process. “I’ve spent eight years so focused on building businesses that I basically ignored my family. That changes now.” 

When I heard from her a few months later, she had shut down all but one of the businesses. “I’m working to make amends with my husband and son,” she wrote. “I’m so blessed that they’re willing to let me.” She went on to say that her definition of wealth and abundance had changed dramatically since exploring her Akashic Records with me. 

“I see now how much value there is in my relationships, not only with my family, but with my friends, whom I’ve also largely ignored over the last few years,” she wrote. “It’s so strange how letting go of those other businesses felt both terrifying and freeing at the same time.” 

We can all learn something from Robin’s experience. It’s so easy to focus on acquiring money, even when it’s hidden behind a motivation centered in wanting to do good. Fear is what lies beneath that, and it prevents us from building abundance in other areas of our lives, and that is what slows the creation of the New Earth.

Mother, Father, Goddess, God, please support me as

I open to the flow that is abundance.

Please take me outside of time and space, to the origin of any beliefs,

Ideas and feelings that I hold about being Loveable.

I now free that energy to create new space in my life and body to

Make new choices as I follow my spiritual path.

As I swim in this flowing river of abundance,

the right people at the right time appear to offer me

love, support me, and enhance my life with ease.
