Painting some scatter terrain–stuff your D&D players will want to rummage through, crates, locked chests, sacks of… who knows? Your characters are just going to have to open them up and see. This is one of those theater of the mind vs physical terrain and minis differences. In TOM you don’t know what you don’t see–and you’ll ask the GM what’s in the room. With minis, what you see is what you get, and if the room is empty–and unless you tell the party explicitly–the room is empty. So, now players are going to see one of these in the corner of the room and go “I’m going to dig through this pile of stuff, see if there’s anything valuable.”
