Ol’ Smoky
Yes, the winds have turned and my town is blanketed in wildfire smoke. Conditions have been declining from “moderate” early in the week to “unhealthy for sensitive groups” and today just “unhealthy.” Meanwhile, we’ve been in the upper nineties most of the week. The sky has a strange overcast to it. The light is very muted and filtered.
On the plus side, we haven’t had glowing embers drop from the sky, as we did in 2015!
It’s interesting, in a mildly disturbing way, to experience this. It isn’t quite like the Mt. St. Helens eruption when I was in college, but somewhat like it. One day perhaps I will use these sensations in one of my stories.
Work does go on with The Warlock’s Army. I’ve been able to make my goal (2 pages or more each day) even with the resumption of my work schedule.
Onward!
Have you read one of my books? Then it would be great for you to leave a review! Meanwhile, if you’d like to learn more about me and my work, check out my website, Bluesky, Facebook or Pinterest.
