EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO THEIR OWN THOUGHTS ON A REVIEW.
I have something I want to say and hope it doesn't turn people away, but I feel it has to be said. In no way have I ever claimed my stories to be perfect or error free. I know for a fact that every book I have ever read contains errors. To the horror of another author, their book was printed without the ending pages and was forced to recall and reprint. Things like this happen. No one is perfect.
As a self-published author, I do appreciate the CONSTRUCTIVE feedback from all readers. I for one use this to help provide better stories as my writing grows and matures. The feedback helps me to know what the readers are looking for and how I can try to give them what they want. I welcome readers to comment freely and honestly on all my posts, blogs and on Amazon.
Unfortunately, I am not in control of reviews or comments on Amazon, nor do I encourage any negativity on reviewers providing their honest opinions. However, if that reviewer posts a comment and someone does respond, I would assume the reviewer would be mature enough to let it go. Instead, I am finding that some people are just not mature and use the comment sections and then their own blog to claim they were being picked on.
To set the story straight, there are two sides to every story. Regarding the person who gave a negative review...She was listed on a blog tour when my book was released. The negative comments from Amazon got out of hand and spilled over onto her website. The blogger was extremely negative and allowed her followers to attack a fan for commenting about how much they enjoyed the book. When the fan sent me a copy of the message, I of course removed the blogger from my tour list. Who in their right mind is going to send fans over to a site where they will be ridiculed and berated for enjoying a book? Of course the blogger/reviewer made comments that I was immature by removing her. Of course she didn't allow all the comments to remain on her site showing how she and her followers ganged up on this fan. The blogger only kept the ones making herself look like the victim and the one being attacked.
I seriously don't understand how months later this person is still posting negative things, using my name and my book as a segway into discussing other authors and their agents actions, cursing at fans and reviewers. In actuality, I asked Amazon to remove the comments and they said the comments fell within the rights of the person(s) making the comment and that of the reviewers.
As you see, I didn't even post the reviewers name nor her blog in this post. In no way personally, verbally or in written word, have I attacked or had anyone attack this reviewer. Nor do I condone any such actions. I don't understand why she continues, but it borders on harassment.
Now that I got that out, please know that anyone and everyone is free to make a comment or post a review on any of my material. If you choose to give feedback, I ask that you please do so in a way that it does not make the other person feel like they are being personally attacked. I also request when doing reviews of any of my books the reviewer keeps it professional and refrains from making the review personal as well.
