Author signings

This entry is more for fellow authors who are starting out, like myself, that may need a little help with "on location" branding. After looking around at other authors and noticing what they were doing for their signing appearances, I decided to take it up a notch. Brand your table or booth like its an open page into your book. From the table cloth color to the vertical signage. Don't be afraid of props! Pepper your table with props that can be found in your book. Look to Disney and Universal parks gift shops at their designs for inspiration. You don't have to spend a lot of money to achieve this. Create freebies to give out with a purchase of your book. Bookmarks, stickers, and even mini posters if you like. You've got 8 seconds to make an impression and attract people to your table. Once they are there then work your magic. Better the branding... better the sales! Most of all have fun with it.
