Why Is It Difficult to Get a Paperback Copy of Being Henry David???
I’m starting to hear from teachers who’ve been using my book in their classrooms, (thank you so much, teachers!) letting me know it’s nearly impossible for their students to get paperback copies of BHD.
Sadly, this is why: My publisher, Albert Whitman, has filed Chapter 11. Word is, they’re seeking this protection so they can “re-organize.” But what does that mean to you and me? Sigh. It means they’re not printing new paperback copies of the book, and until they do–or until I can get the rights myself and find a new publisher–the options are more limited.
HOWEVER! There are still ways to get ahold of Being Henry David. There is still an audio version. E-books are available. Hardcover copies are apparently more plentiful, but are more expensive. And then there are sellers online who are offering second-hand copies. And LIBRARIES–don’t forget our beloved libraries.
So until all this legal stuff gets sorted out, please don’t stop reading my beloved book!
And, as always, I am busy working on new stories to share with you. One that I’m HOT on the trail of, even as we speak. More soon about that.
Thank you, thank you for checking in. I’m still here, still available for school visits or Zooms with students.
XOXOXOXOX
Cal
