Fear
Fear is a powerful emotion. It can drive us to do great things by elevating our caution levels. By contrast it can keep us from achieving our biggest accomplishments.
As a writer I do fear, failure and rejection. Before I started on this journey I realized there is no road traveled without any bumps.
I promised myself somethings before I started writing. One was to take criticism for what it is— my friend and ally. If given constructively it can be the greatest asset.
The next thing was even if I never recieved any criticism, was to work at my craft. How can I make my characters better, how I can thicken my plot-lines and to maintain a level of continuity.
Last but not least, I promised to conclude my story arc no matter what. My book Sons of Titan: Rise of the Bloodwraiths is the first in what should be a story encompassing three books.
In these books I plan to build and create characters that readers can not only sink their teeth into but will see in different roles in different novels.
As a reader I've desired these things from my favorite authors and at times came away disappointed.
Let's face it, every one of us as kids wanted to see Lucas do another trilogy of Star Wars so we could see how Luke, Leia and Han all end up.
With this blog I hope to not only engage my own audience but fellow readers and writers or great books!
