A Simple Recipe

I topped a few with a pecan half.

This is a very simple and delicious recipe my sister-in-law taught me with a little variation.

First I put 1/3 stick of salted butter in a pan and melted it and dumped in my pint bag of pecans adding in a little more salt. I stirred the nuts until they were completely coated and then put them on a baking sheet with parchment paper. I put them in the oven on 400 (I think I should have put it at 350).

While my pecans were roasting I made some snack mix since my husband bought home a huge bag of oat cereal. Two actually. The other will be coated in chocolate.

I melted 1/4 stick of butter added two tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, half a teaspoon of Sriracha sauce and two shakes of Tony’s Cajun seasoning. Stir in a cup of almonds and six cups of cereal.

Once covered put into large foil pan.

Melt more butter add more seasonings and dump one package of oyster crackers, pretzels, and cheese crackers stirring frequently to cover with butter and seasoning. Dump into foil pan.

Pull out pecan and let cool.

Put in foil pan in oven.

Back to cookies…

One butter cake mix.

One stick of butter melted.

Two eggs.

Three quarters cup caramel pieces.

Rough chop a cup of pecans.

Mix well. Drop onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for ten minutes or until golden on bottom.

Remove foil pan with snack mix from the oven and let cool before putting in airtight containers.
