I’m starting to remember just how much I don’t like these guys.
…
Morrigan didn’t bother to ask if there were any signs of magical coercion. Obliterating those were the entire point of disruption charges. “They’ve been planning this, then. How soon before our response?”
“Thirty minutes.” Morrigan noted the faintest bit of sweat on Panic’s face. “I had to threaten our remote curse adepts to get them to move that quickly, Archmage,” he went on. “The Wabash front is still stabilizing.”
“Acceptable,” Morrigan allowed after a reflexively-calculated pause. “If they were wise enough to eliminate our hostage before she could be used against them, they were wise enough to flee the scene of their crimes.” She looked back at the map, already trying to figure out how ‘stabilize’ the new front lines without losing too much territory. “Obliterate it anyway. Maybe a few of them were slow.”
