I love writing about paranormal creatures. Anyone familiar with my books knows I love writing about werewolves. Elemental is the best way to describe them. They are powerful creatures, in tune with the earth. The idea of them makes us shiver in dread; at the same time, it makes us wish we could be closer to the wolf. The wolf calls to us on a primal level. We admire it even as we fear it.
But in my latest series, I veered away from werewolves and into the world of reapers, those who gather the souls of the dead and lead them to the afterlife. It doesn’t get more primal or powerful than that.
