I deleted my account. I decided it was pointless; it put me in a bad mood all the time; I couldn't start a day without watching a snuff film; and nothing was being accomplished. It was also a massive waste of my time.

I'll be writing more here, and perhaps more substantially. I am also writing essays on the specific matter of AI and Literature at a Substack that I hope you will subscribe to. It is free but if you can manage the paid subscription, it would be appreciated. I am, after all, only a novelist.

That topic may not seem relevant to you but as someone here at Goodreads, I assure you it is. AI is already influencing how manuscripts are created, reviewed, selected for acquisition, prepared, marketed and sold. As a reader, you are already inside the AI domain, and if you want to hear the story from a senior novelist (and social scientist), that's the place.
